Fundraising for Farmers

Every year nearly 900,000 people fill the Sydney Showground for the iconic Sydney Royal Easter Show.

More than carnival rides and showbags, the Easter Show is where generations of city kids have heard a real cow’s moo for the first time. It’s where they get to see wriggly piglets and touch a woolly sheep.

But did you know that the Easter Show is hosted by the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS), a not-for-profit committed to supporting rural and regional farmers, their families and communities?

An important pillar of the RAS is celebration. The annual Easter Show has always provided a unique and fun educational experience that celebrates and recognises present and emerging leaders in agriculture as well as award-quality animal breeds and produce.

The events, awards and competitions that the RAS runs through its prestigious Sydney Royal competitions provide a reason and opportunity for farmers and producers to demonstrate commitment, product integrity and innovation in their pursuit of excellence.

It’s also where funds are generated to be deployed back into agriculture year-round benefiting farmers and their rural communities.

Additionally, the RAS Foundation is the charitable arm of the RAS business. The Foundation aims to build strong, vibrant rural communities in NSW through investment in education, training, skills advancement and community development by providing grants and scholarships.

Last year, the RAS invested $11million in support of rural and regional communities throughout NSW.

By coming to the Show, you not only celebrate all the hard work and efforts of our NSW farmers and producers, but also you contribute to the RAS and its agricultural initiatives.

When you come to the Show, you support our farmers!
