Animal Lovers’ Itinerary: A Full Day of Adorable Encounters at the Sydney Royal Easter Show 2026

Spend a delightful day exploring the very best animal experiences at the Sydney Royal Easter Show – from tiny chicks and playful piglets to gentle alpacas, majestic cattle, and curious Australian wildlife. Follow this easy itinerary to make sure you meet every furry, fluffy and feathered friend along the way.

8:30am – Arrival & Entry

Arrive at Sydney Olympic Park and collect a Show map, plus information wristbands for the kids at the entrance or Information Booth – so your family’s contact details are always close at hand.

9:00am – Sheep & Wool Pavilion and Carnival Cruise Line Animal Walk

Begin your adventure with the Carnival Cruise Line Animal Walk and stop first at the Sheep & Wool Pavilion to see a variety of sheep breeds. Watch live shearing demos, meet friendly farmers, and marvel at award-winning Merino champions.

9:30am – Poultry & Pigeon Pavilion

Head to the Poultry & Pigeon Pavilion to discover ducks, chickens, turkeys and geese of every size and colour. Explore the Journey of an Egg interactive display, watch chicks hatching then visit the ever-popular Pat-a-Chick experience and give one a gentle pat.

10:00am – Pig & Goat Pavilion

Step into the Pig & Goat Pavilion for classic farmyard fun and plenty of smiles. You can pat cheeky piglets, catch the Sydney Royal Goat Show and watch a pig enjoy a good wash.

10:30am – Morning Tea Break

Take a quick break outside the Pig & Goat Pavilion and grab a snack or drink from a nearby food stall before continuing the adventure.

11:30am – Riverina Fresh Working Dairy

Visit the Riverina Fresh Working Dairy to see cows being milked live and learn how milk travels from farm to fridge. Chat with farmers, discover modern milking technology, and meet adorable calves and magnificent Clydesdales.

12:00pm – Farmyard Nursery

Kids will love feeding and patting baby animals including lambs, ducklings, donkeys and goats. Don’t miss the cute ducklings slide down the miniature slippery dip in the classic Show display.

1:00pm – Lunch

Refuel at one of the many food stalls at the Sushi Hub Kids’ Carnival or enjoy a meal at the Cattle Lawn Café & Bar. Nearby favourites include Cheap Eats, Toastie Boy, Chick Inn BBQ, Flame Grilled Burgers, Sushi Hub and Water Melon Fiesta.

2:00pm – Cattle and Alpaca Pavilion

Explore the Cattle and Alpaca Pavilion and meet the stars of the barnyard. Snap a selfie with the Walk an Alpaca experience or watch alpaca shearing in action (both from 9–13 April). Don’t miss the Fancy Dress Calf Competition on 9 April – baby cows in costume are guaranteed to steal the show!

2:30pm – Duck and Dog Slide Show & Donkeys at Davidson Plaza

Laugh along at the Duck & Dog Slide Show, featuring mischievous ducks, slippery slides and clever working dogs. Then wander to Davidson Plaza Grasslands to meet the gentle donkeys from the Good Samaritan Donkey Sanctuary.

3:30pm – ADVANCE™ Sydney Royal Dog Show

At the ADVANCE™ Sydney Royal Dog Show, watch talented pups compete in everything from agility and grooming to the prestigious Best in Show (Monday 21 April, 2pm). On Monday 13 April, you can meet dozens of dog breeds and learn which might suit your family best.

4:00pm – Showbags & Sweet Treats

Dive into a burst of colour at the Showbag Pavilion! Treat the kids (and maybe yourself) to a favourite animalthemed showbag – from Bluey to petfriendly options. Then treat yourself at Sweet Sensations with Tanghulu or Dragon’s Breath from Fruity Poppin.

4:30pm – Australian Wildlife & Aviary Experience

Meet native animals up close at the Australian Wildlife Display, from scaly snakes to cuddly marsupials. Then wander to the Aviary Bird & Tame Parrot Display to see vibrant parrots and learn about bird conservation. Depending on the day, the Pet Pavilion also hosts the Sydney Royal Rat & Mouse Show, ADVANCE™ Sydney Royal Cat Show, Sydney Royal Cavy Competition, Sydney Royal Rabbit Show/Rabbit Hopping, Sydney Royal Frog & Reptile Show, and Farmer Dave’s exciting dog demos.

5:00pm – Jamison Station

Let kids explore the hay-bale maze, walk an alpaca or try milking a cow at the Show’s resident working farm. As the sun sets, Jamison Station transforms into a glowing rural dreamscape with more than 70 illuminated animal sculptures – a perfect photo stop.

6:00pm – Dinner near ENGIE Stadium

Enjoy an early dinner at one of the many dining options near ENGIE Stadium, like Honky Tonky BBQ and Angus Steakhouse, or head upstairs at the Woolworths Fresh Food Dome for an Italian-style market space at Bianco Carnivale.
