Sydney Royal Horse Show
Horse competitions and events have been a part of our Shows since the first one in 1823 when a prize was awarded for best colonial-bred stallion. Since then, the competition has grown in classes, size, and prestige, and is now recognised as one of the largest in Australia. The beauty and spectacle of horses in competition is a sight not to be missed. Every day of the Show you can see the magnificent equines judged on presentation, movement and manners, whilst the riders are assessed on position, presentation and effectiveness of aids. Highlights of the Sydney Royal Horse Show include the Col A V Pope Best Gelding Hack over 15hh and the F L Crane Best Mare or Filly Hack over 15hh, along with the Champion Multiple Turnout featuring Heavy Horses and heritage horse drawn vehicles.
