Sydney Royal Flower & Garden Show
A Show tradition since 1929, the Horticulture competition traces its roots back to 1869, when silkworms were first judged, followed by sugar cane, tobacco and salads in the years that followed. Over time, the focus shifted to flowering and other plants, with fish and aquariums briefly featured in the late 1950s. Today, the competition showcases cut flowers, cacti and succulents, fruits and vegetables, along with special flower arranging classes. The pavilion also hosts floristry competitions throughout the Show. New exhibits are judged every second day, with all displays remaining in the pavilion for visitors to enjoy.
