Behind the Medal: Sydney Royal Hot Cross Bun Workshop by HEARTHE
Head down to the Sydney Royal Talk & Taste Stand Day 1 at 1pm for a special hands-on workshop hosted by the maker himself Christopher Thè, creator of HEARTHE’s Sydney Royal Gold Medal Signature Hot Cross Buns along with Tawnya Bahr, Fine Food Industry Advisor. During the workshop, you’ll gain a clear, behind‑the‑scenes introduction to the Sydney Royal Fine Food Show — how products are entered, how judging works, and why a Sydney Royal medal is recognised as a trusted mark of quality — all with the aim of inspiring future exhibitors and volunteers to get involved. As you participate, you’ll glaze and garnish your own hot cross bun using native Australian ingredients including hand‑deshelled Bunya nuts, cinnamon, fragrant myrtle and native currants. These artisan elements celebrate local flavour and the craft behind a Sydney Royal winner. Enjoy HEARTHE’s award‑winning Hot Cross Buns, baked onsite for the first four days.
