Exhibition Poultry from across both New South Wales and interstate will go under the hammer in one of the most highly anticipated Poultry Auctions on the Australian calendar, The Sydney Royal Purebred Poultry Auction. Chickens, ducks, and geese are among the lots being offered by some of the most influential breeders in Australian Exhibition Poultry.

The high quality and variety of exhibits is a great drawcard for people up and down the east coast of Australia wanting to connect with country breeders. To bid in the auction you can register either online or at the Poultry Office.

With over 2,500 exhibits from across Australia, the Sydney Royal Poultry & Pigeon Show is the premier event for poultry enthusiasts and exhibitors. This iconic showcase features an incredibly diverse array of poultry, including chickens, pigeons, ducks, turkeys, geese, and guinea fowl, celebrating the finest in the industry.

Geese will be featured in 2025. There are many different breeds of these large, heavy bodied waterfowl, which are generally larger than ducks but smaller than swans.

Journey of an Egg is an interactive centre for children to learn about where their eggs come from and how to cook them at home. Children are taken through the entire lifecycle of an egg, starting with hatching, laying, grading and packing, and finishing with inspiration for cooking eggs at home.

With more than a few chick chicks here and chick chicks there, the Poultry Pavilion has the softest feathered friends chirping to meet you. Gentle touches by the young and young-at-heart are encouraged at the daily Pat-a-Chick sessions, so make sure you have your camera ready!

In 1870, cats were surprisingly shown as an extra exhibit in the poultry competition, but in 1929 they were given their own competition and have been the cream of the crop ever since.

The ADVANCE™ Sydney Royal Cat Show is recognised as one of the most prestigious competitions in the world for fancy felines, judged by breed, then group and finally by ring.

The ultimate winner is then awarded Best in Show, also affectionately and unofficially to be known as ‘top cat’.
