Have you ever wondered what size, personality, wearing a long or short coat, and, in fact exactly which breed of dog might suit you and your family's lifestyle?

Come to the Sydney Royal Dog Show and spend some time with the best group of canines and their people you could ever hope to meet!

You can hug, sit and chat, have a selfie with, and just generally hang out with beautiful canines at the ADVANCE™ BARK PARK, situated right next to the dog show rings every day.

Even better, if you already have a dog, you can ask our team of experts any question about training, feeding and raising a puppy to be a perfect canine friend.

As if that wasn't enough, we have daily giveaways for you and your pooch!

Alpaca Competition

Where: Alpaca Pavilion
When: 9.00am-6.00pm 10-14 April
Bred for their fibre, Alpacas were introduced to Australia at various times throughout the late 1800s but didn't become permanent residents until 1989 and have held a place amongst the competitions at the Sydney Royal Easter Show from 1992.

Bred for their fibre, Alpacas were introduced to Australia at various times throughout the late 1800s but didn't become permanent residents until 1989 and have held a place amongst the competitions at the Sydney Royal Easter Show from 1992.
Assessing breed standards, fibre quality and quantity of fleece produced, judges in the Alpaca & Fleece Competition look at bone structure, balance and proportion and even growth for age. Fleece is judged on density, lustre, character and of course uniformity.

Breed standard determines the characteristics, temperament and appearance of a breed, therefore the Conformation Competition measures each dog against the standard for their breed.

When: 9.00am-8.30pm Daily
Make your way to the Pet Pavilion to make some new feathered friends, with the Tame Parrot Display and the Aviary Bird Display featuring some of Australia's endangered bird species.

On display every day of the Show, this is an amazing opportunity to pat and talk to a parrot and learn a little about the steps you can take to save a species or two of native birds.

Cat Competition

Where: Pet Pavilion, Riverina Avenue
When: 9.00am-5.00pm 4-5 April (Display), 9.00am-5.00pm 10-12 April, with judging taking place between 9.00am-1.00pm
The ADVANCE™ Sydney Royal Cat Show is one of the most prestigious feline competitions in Australia, attracting more than 40 breeds, all vying for the ultimate title, Best In Show.

The ADVANCE™ Sydney Royal Cat Show is one of the most prestigious feline competitions in Australia, attracting more than 40 breeds, all vying for the ultimate title, Best In Show.

Judges take into account the cat's breed standard, coat, construction and temperament when judging. The purr-fectly preened pets can be seen across 5 days at the Show, with Breed Display days on 4 & 5 April, and the Open Champion Competition taking place from 10-12 April. The top cat, Best in Show, will be named on 12 April from 3.00pm.

Finding a comfortable home at the Show, this is the third year of the revived Sydney Royal Cavy Show, hosted by the NSW Cavy Club.

Finding a comfortable home at the Show, this is the third year of the revived Sydney Royal Cavy Show, hosted by the NSW Cavy Club.  First domesticated by the Incas over 3,000 years ago, they are definitely not pigs and certainly not from Guinea, but they are incredibly popular as pets and absolutely love company - ask the breeders everything you want to know and discover more about the different breeds and how to welcome them as a pet into your family.

First formed in 1932, the NSW Police Dog Unit operates with the mission to make the streets safer and reduce the fear of crime.

First formed in 1932, the NSW Police Dog Unit operates with the mission to make the streets safer and reduce the fear of crime. Police handlers from this Unit show off the skills and tricks their dogs use to fight crime and you won’t believe what they can do.
