Sheep at the Show 
Sheep have had a long and proud position in Australia’s rural history. Today sheep are a cornerstone of Australian agriculture and a proud part of our rural culture. Visit the Sheep and Wool Pavilion to learn all about this part of Australian agriculture. See champion animals and shearing demonstrations, learn some tips in the wool craft classes and shop for some superb wool products.

The Sydney Royal Sheep & Fleece Show is one of the largest and most prestigious Sheep & Fleece Shows in Australia.  Each year over 700 sheep and 100 fleeces are exhibited at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. For information on The Sydney Royal Sheep & Fleece Show competition, please click here.

Spinning & Weaving
Watch the spinners and weavers turn the fleece into beautiful garments which are on display during the show.
When: 9am - 7pm. Thursday 17th - Wednesday 23rd April

Shearing Demonstrations
Champion shearers Ian and Jim show off their skills and tell a few tales of life in the sheds. Get a lesson from the experts, and try your own hand at the shearing game.
When: Thursday 10th - Wednesday 23rd April.  Shows five times per day at 10.30am, 12.00pm, 1.30pm, 3.00pm, 4.30pm

Did you know?

• A sheep’s pregnancy period  is  5 months (150 days)
• After shearing, wool is classed into different categories and qualities. Premium wool is called the fleece; other categories are pieces, bellies, lox, stains and crutchings
• Each type of wool is used for different products
