The Sydney Royal Easter Show’s new evening production, Australiana In All Its Glory, will celebrate Australia and all that we love about this great southern land.
Spanning our breathtaking landscapes, incredible innovations, inspiring people and passion for sport, the production will take audiences on a sensory journey filled with visual delights, live action and performances, all to the sound of classic Australian soundtracks.
Throughout the action-packed 45-minute production, two narrators will spin yarns, sing songs and lead audiences on the journey, introducing colourful, quirky Australiana objects and performers. In a whimsical delight, large inflatables, oversized puppets and character costumers including merino heads, wattle, cockatoos, Vegemite jars, a Kewpie Doll, a Digger’s slouch hat and even a 5-metre high Dame Edna, will parade across the Main Arena.
In a Show first, a 9-metre inflatable sphere in the middle of the Main Arena will project images and footage from five projection points to tell the story. Scenes of natural beauty, floral and fauna, iconic paintings and memorabilia, famous faces and sporting feats will be beamed onto the sphere. Five 18-metre discs on the ground will also beam colourful projections bringing the story to life.
The action-packed production will also be filled with live performances from singers, dancers, whipcrackers, lifesavers, rally drivers and MotoX riders, who will all play a part in representing and celebrating aspects of Australian life, history and culture.
The production will culminate with a spectacular finale when all inflatables, oversized puppets and performers fill the Main Arena, followed by a 12-minute fireworks display - double in length from previous years - that will magically light up the night sky.
Australiana In All Its Glory is a visual extravaganza and an inspiring production that will leave audiences feeling very proud to be Australian.
