When is the 2014 Sydney Royal Easter Show?

The Show will run from Thursday 10th April to Wednesday 23rd April 2014.

When is the Schools Program held?

The Schools Program will run for two (2) days and be held on Thursday 10th and Friday 11th April 2014.

What time does the Show open?

Gates open at 9:00am, however pavilions do not open until 9:30am.

How much does it cost to bring school students to the Show?

School groups are entitled to a special admission price of $16.00. This includes travel for all students and teachers on public transport to and from the Show.

Please note all Schools Tickets are GST exempt.

How much does it cost for teachers?

Accompanying teachers are free at a ratio of one (1) free teacher for every six (6) Primary School students, one (1) free teacher for every ten (10) Secondary School students.

Are there provisions for special needs students and their carers?

Yes, complimentary tickets will be issued for carers of students requiring extra assistance.

Please request extra tickets in the ‘PWD’ section on the booking form. 

What is there for primary school students to do at the Show?

Schools can pre-book a variety of sessions ranging from Sheep Shearing to the Milking Barn where each student will get the opportunity to milk a cow. Students can also follow the Animal Walk to visit the pavilions to see chickens, sheep, goats, pigs, cows, horses and alpacas. On the walk you’ll come across the Food Farm which takes you on a journey from the paddock to the plate, teaching children about where our food comes from and the role Australian farmers play in caring for our land.

How do our younger students get the most out of the excursion?

Plan your day to get the most out of Australia's largest annual event, an iconic showcase of Australian culture, heritage and agricultural excellence. When you arrive at the Show, collect your free Junior Farm Hands Activity Books and Passport to encourage students to be involved in the many and varied interactive activities. These activities span discovering where our food comes from to learning about animal breeds and fibre. Please see itineraries for details of primary school self-guided learning tours. What is there for secondary school students to do at the Show?

The Sydney Royal Easter Show offers endless learning opportunities and experiences for secondary students. We have matched many of our learning experiences with key learning areas offered by the NSW Secondary School syllabus. Secondary schools have the opportunity to book into pre-booked education sessions, enter competitions and discover what the Show has to offer in a variety of subject areas with our suggested itineraries. How do our older students get the most out of the excursion?

There are learning opportunities around every corner at the Show. In addition to attending sessions, students could use the self-guided tours (see itineraries) to cover the areas most related to their chosen subjects. How long do Schools Sessions run for?

Sessions are approximately 30 minutes in duration, unless otherwise stated.

How many Schools Sessions should my students attend?

Students may attend a maximum of two (2) sessions per student per day. As there are so many interesting things to see and do at the Show, we suggest that you allow plenty of time to cover pavilions and exhibits in addition to formal sessions.

Where do we go at the Show?

We have developed some suggested itineraries for both Primary and Secondary school groups. Session venues will be listed on the confirmation that will be sent to you with your entry tickets.

How can I access the booking system?

The Online Booking System (OBS) for school groups is now open. Book tickets via our TICKETS page.

How can I complete my booking?

The Online Booking System (OBS) is now open for School Group bookings.

All school booking should be made through our (OBS).

How can I book my students into Schools Sessions?

Teachers can book their students into Schools Sessions at the same time they book their tickets online.

How do I pay for tickets?

There are two (2) ways to pay for School Group tickets.

i) Credit card payment –full payment can be made when booking tickets and sessions. This method also guarantees that your places in selected session/s will be held.
ii) ‘Pay later’ – This method allows a seven (7) day window for payment from booking date to the time the RAS receives payment.

Session places will be held for a maximum of seven (7) days. Places will be released if payment is not received during that time.

 

When must I pay for tickets?

To take advantage of the special school prices, all School Group tickets must be paid in full by close of business Friday 4 April 2014.

Are tickets refundable?

No, School Group tickets are not refundable.

Where do I send payment?

When will I receive my tickets?

Tickets will be mailed to you in order of payment received, beginning late February.

The RAS is unable to guarantee on time delivery of tickets where payment has been delayed in reaching us.

Where can I get Sydney Showground Risk Assessment information?

How far is the Showground from public transport?

Show entry is adjacent to Olympic Park train station.

Sydney Blue buses have various drop off/pick up points around the Showground, these are all within approximately 500m of Entry Gates.

The Schools Group ticket price of $16.00 includes public transport to the Show on NSW public trains, buses and ferries.

What nights are the fireworks on?

The Fireworks Display will be part of the evening entertainment which will run from 7:30 – 9:00pm each night of the Show. Be early to get a good seat!
