NAB Arena Highlights

Catch all the action in the NAB Arena with a variety of action-packed shows everyday, including twice daily performances of the Xtreme Korruption showcase, Sydney Royal Horse Competitions, Rodeo, Bull Riding and the ever-popular Woodchopping Competition. In keeping with tradition, the Evening Spectacular will be capped off with the Dairy Farmers Laser & Fireworks Finale, illuminating the night sky with dazzling displays, every night at 9pm.

The Sydney Royal Woodchopping & Sawing Competition is back to wow the crowds in 2008. Watch the chips fly right before your eyes as the world’s best chop it out in the Men’s International Relay on 27, 28 and 30 March.

The Sydney Royal Bull Riding Spectacular charges into the NAB Arena with eight nights of Competition during the Show. Watch in awe as 30 of Australia’s best riders take on 220 of the fiercest bucking bulls in the land. Bull riding is the most dangerous of all rodeo events, pushing the strength, focus, skill and courage of riders to the extreme.

Horse Team Events are another exciting part of the entertainment in the NAB Arena, taking place over the first eight days of the Show. Sydney Royal Competitions including Showjumping, Polo, Tentpegging, Campdrafting and Polocrosse will all run, as well as the Showjumping selection for the Beijing Olympics. This will be a highlight of the 2008 Show and a great opportunity to witness magnificent horses and riders seeking final selection for the 2008 Olympic Games.

The inaugural Sydney Royal Horse Classic will keep up the pace over the
last six days of the Show, with horsemen and women from around the
country saddling up for a range of Competition Classes including Champion Hack, Pony Hack, Galloway, Saddle Classes, Led and Ridden Breeds and Harness Classes.

Back with more thrills and spills than ever before, Xtreme Korruption
delivers a mix of three new acts and a trusted favourite in 2008. The
Freestyle MotoX Team will be here again with the Yamaha MotoX Freestyle
Team and Team ARD FMX ripping up the ramps in dynamic style. Be
prepared to witness gravity-defying tricks that will have you on the edge of
your seat.

The Motorbike Trapeze is a new attraction that will see the Flying Lotahs
take audiences on a death defying ride with their highwire trapeze, tightwire
and motor-cycling act. Dangerman Highwire Trapeze is a breathtaking
balancing act that is not to be missed. This is motorcycle action taken
to the extreme.

Roaring into the Show for the first time in 2008 are the Toyota V6 Hilux Heroes. Teaming up with some of Australia's top professional drivers, Toyota Australia delivers the daring and talented V6 Hilux Heroes Stunt Driving Team. Drivers throw caution to the wind and perform stunts that will
shock and amaze - you won’t see this kind of driving on the roads!

Tackling the NAB Arena head-on in 2008 are the Bouncin’ Bobcats, with a
breathtaking spectacle of heavy equipment locking moves that will make
the mind boggle. Four bobcats will show their finesse in a choreographed
performance to thumping tunes.

The Massed Dog Obedience event has been staged for nearly half a century,
proving to be a big crowd pleaser every year. The event comprises of over
100 dogs and their handlers showcasing strength, agility and
performance with the dogs in colourful costumes. Nowhere else in the
world houses such an event.

In keeping with things on a large scale, the Massed Line Dancing will be
back for its 19th year at the Show.  On Sunday 23 March there will be hundreds
of dancers performing a massed event in the NAB Arena. This evening
performance will dazzle and delight all who attend.  Line Dancing is
enjoying renewed interest on an international level, combining health
and fitness with good old fashioned fun!
