Stage Shows & Live Music

The live music and stage shows were a big hit again at this year’s Show. There was a diverse range of performances throughout the Show to satisfy even the keenest Showgoer’s needs.

The VB Shed was a hype of activity hosting daily live music acts. It was a great opportunity to catch some of the newest Australian acts like Method, Snez, Brett Hunt, Double Yum Funk Club and many more.  The VB Shed was also home to one of the funniest acts of the Show, Shane St James - Australia’s Own Hypnotist. Audiences were left in stitches as Shane’s subjects transformed into outrageous comedians and actors.

Another big crowd pleaser were the acts at the Big Top Amphitheatre. Youth
Stage, Psycho Sideshow, the Tom Tom Club and ZimboyZ left audiences in
awe of the amazing talent displayed on stage.  The Psycho Sideshow made
audiences squeamish as they watched with their hearts in their mouths, as
the amazing Ruby Rubberlegs dislocated her limbs in order to fit into a tiny
glass box.

The Coca-Cola Zone was another popular attraction and one of the hottest
places to visit at the Show. Whether you were getting colored hair extensions,
cool graphic-designed hoodies or watching the boys at the Freestyle Trials
doing their thing, there was always something happening in The Coca-Cola
Zone. B-Boying was another a popular favourite and many took part in the
hip-hop workshops to learn how to break down the latest moves.

The NSW Seniors Card Concerts were another big hit on Seniors Days, and
many enjoyed the nostalgic music played by John Morrison’s Swing City Big
Band featuring Jacki Cooper and the delightful Girls of Gold.

Cultures on Show Day also proved to be very successful, with various
traditional dancing groups performing at The VB Shed on 30 March.
Audiences were enticed by the elaborate and exotic costumes displayed on
stage.
