Alpaca Fashion Parades
|
|
The Alpaca Fashion Parades are set to be the biggest ever, with three
new designers, Charis Cheung, Megan Chu and Michelle Lee, parading
their garments exclusively at the Show. Alpaca fibre has a structure similar to wool, but because it is hard wearing, lustrous and smooth with a soft handle, it is in demand world-wide for high quality clothing and homewares. In the last decade the Australian alpaca industry’s production of high quality alpaca has grown to meet local and overseas demand.
There will also be Karisma Designs all the way from New Zealand, parading some of their exquisite felted garments. Robin Fullerton, PCK Designs, will once again feature this year, showcasing the true versatility of these glamorous fabrics. You will see everything from jumpers, coats, and day and night wear, to name a few.
Australian designers and manufacturers have embraced alpaca wholeheartedly and the results are amazing. Be sure to see this evolving fashion product in the Alpaca Fashion Parades at this year’s Sydney Royal Easter Show.
Parades were held in the Cattle & Alpaca Pavilion over the Easter long weekend.
