Come and see super-speedy champion shearers as they showcase their sensational skills.

As they present a new line-up of performing sheep for your delight, you’ll laugh at tales of life on the land and the goings-on in the shearing sheds. Each session some lucky audience members are invited onstage to help take the clippers to a woolly sheep, as the experts explain the tricks of the trade.

The shearing display at the Sydney Royal Easter Show brings together world-class shearers who collectively have vast experience and knowledge of all matters concerning the wool industry.

Jim Murray is Head Shearer at the Show and he’ll be joined by Ian Elkin who was in the news in 2015 when he was chosen to shear a sheep rescued by the RSPCA in Canberra. The sheep had lost its flock and accumulated a fleece weighing a staggering 40.45 kilograms. The usual weight of shorn fleeces is between 5–6 kilograms.

From 6 – 12 April you can watch sheep shearing demonstrations in The Daily Telegraph Paddock at The Outback Stockman Arena.
