Cute and cuddly or big and beastly, animals are the star attraction of the Show. Come and meet some of the 14,000 creatures who, for 12 days, will call Sydney Showground home.

Held over the full 12 days of the Show, Showjumping is an Olympic discipline recognised by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI), and Sydney Royal has long been acknowledged as a breeding ground for international competitors.

The judges are looking at both horse and rider, assessing skill, accuracy and training. Professional riders compete in the Open Competitions whilst Junior, Amateur and Pony Club sections remain separate.

The event not to be missed is the Grand Prix on the afternoon of 22 April – the 20 best performing horses at the Show are selected to compete against the clock over fences from 1.5 to 1.6 metres high.
