The Cattle Pavilions are a hive of activity from sunrise to sundown, as Exhibitors set about preparing their stock for Show; washing, shampooing, blow-drying and clipping them.

The Cattle Pavilions are a hive of activity from sunrise to sundown, as Exhibitors set about preparing their stock for Show; washing, shampooing, blow-drying and clipping them.

When they are exhibiting at the Show, farmers live in the lofts with their cattle, literally breathing in everything bovine. They're proud of their work and happy to have a yarn as you wander through.

In the first week of the Show, there will be more than 20 different breeds of beef cattle on display including the unique white-banded Belted Galloways and the dappled Speckle Parks.

But there's no bull at the Show during the second week with only Dairy cows and heifers on display.

In 2017, the Cattle section feature breed is Limousin. Judging will take place for these magnificent beasts on Friday 7 April and Saturday 8 April.
